There are a handful of safe fungicide treatments that can be made from using household ingredients.  Avoid applying any fungicide or pesticide in the direct sun. It is best to apply early in the morning so that plants can dry throughout the day. You will need to reapply a fungicide in the event of rainfall. Most of these recipes work by changing the pH levels making it difficult for fungi to grow. Be careful not to overuse any of these methods as they can lead to changes in the soil pH and nutrient levels that can have an adverse effect on your crops. It should be noted that anytime you use a home mix, you should always test it out on a small portion of the plant first to make sure that it will not harm the plant.

Cinnamon used on germinating seeds or seedlings has shown to have anti-fungal properties. This can help treat damping off disease. Simply sprinkle cinnamon over your affected seeds or seedlings. Cinnamon can work as a preventative as well.

Baking Soda Fungicide

Baking soda or potassium bicarbonate raise the pH level, making it difficult for fungi to grow.

Ingredients
     4 teaspoons of baking soda
     1 teaspoon of mild soap
     1 gallon of water
Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a spray bottle. Heavily spray the entire plant with the
mixture. Repeat every 2 weeks as needed.

Milk Fungicide

Milk can change the pH so that fungi have a hard time growing. Cow’s milk has shown best results. Do not use powdered milk, it is less effective.

Mix 1 part milk to 9 parts water.

You can use this as a preventative measure and spray plants once a week.

Apple Cider Vinegar Fungicide
