Are you new to growing? What to know how to start a garden or farm in Alaska? Need a refresher on some of the basics to gardening? Eager to be food secure?

Come grow with us! Alaska Village Initiatives has started our Farm Education classes and have the first four classes available and ready. This free class series is a developing course that can be taken at your pace and at your own time. Teachers are available to answer questions though the platform or can schedule live Q&A sessions at students request. We want to ensure Alaska’s food sources are local and sustainable and to share that knowledge with all who are interested.

There will be more classes coming out though the summer and fall time period. If you have any specific topics you would like to learn more about, please feel free to let us know and we will deliver. This is planned as a three year course to help new growers feel established and help them through those first heavy learning years as they establish growing plans and programs.
